Held annually on the last Friday of October, Day for Daniel honours the memory of Daniel Morcombe. We ask all Australians on this very special day to Wear Red, Educate and Donate.
Parents, carers, and educators are encouraged to start a conversation with children and young people about personal safety. Schools and early learning centres conduct child safety education activities. Businesses and community come together to raise awareness of child safety issues. We are developing a new educational resource that will be available for Day for Daniel.
Day for Daniel is the Daniel Morcombe Foundation’s biggest fundraiser each year. Your support through fundraising helps us to continue developing free resources and programs for parents, carers, and educators to teach children how to stay safe. Funds also contribute to supporting young victims of crime.

Wear Red
Help us remember Daniel by wearing red, the colour that represents child safety and our Foundation.
Purchase merchandise to decorate your school or business, or have a red morning tea!
Educate
Use our Keeping Kids Safe Resources and Day for Daniel Lesson Plans.

Invite a Police Officer or child safety expert to talk.
Donate
All funds raised help us develop our free education initiatives and support young victims of crime.
Make a contribution, collect gold coin donations, or even hold a sausage sizzle or bake sale!
Fundraising
On top of being Australia’s largest child safety education and awareness day, Day for Daniel is a major fundraiser for the Daniel Morcombe Foundation.
Schools, early learning centres and workplaces are encouraged to wear red, educate and donate on the last Friday of October.
How to fundraise
Start Fundraising by creating a unique fundraising page through our link, where supporters can donate directly, or you can collect funds and add them yourself, or bank directly into the Daniel Morcombe Foundation account.
Be creative with how you raise money – you could hold a bake sale, wear red for a gold coin donation, have a sausage sizzle or a raffle just to name a few options.
