The Daniel Morcombe Foundation was established in honour of Daniel Morcombe to make Australia a safer place for children. It was founded by parents Bruce and Denise after their son was abducted and murdered in December 2003 while waiting to catch a bus on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. The aims of the Foundation are to educate children and young people about how to stay safe in physical and online environments and to support young victims of crime.
Our vision is to create a future where all children and young people are provided with education, protection and support to be safe from abuse and risk of harm. The Foundation has delivered education to over 260 000 students across Queensland and visited over 1000 schools and communities across Australia. Our Walk Tall counselling service delivers counselling to over 100 children and their families per year. The Foundation provides parents, carers and professionals with evidence-based resources for children and young people’s personal safety education.

How does my donation help?
With your donation, we can educate children, schools and families to recognise signs of harm, to react in a safe way and to report to adults who can help stop the abuse. Our Walk Tall counselling service helps young victims of crime on their journey to recovery. Your support no matter how big or small, can make a difference.
Be part of our community
Daniel Morcombe Foundation Inc acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land and recognises their continuing connection to land, waters and community.
We pay respects to elders past, present and emerging and express gratitude that we can all share this land today. We hope and believe that we can move together to a place of equity, justice and partnership where all our children are safe and free from harm.
